Stage Curtains,
1994, acrylics
After staring at
stage curtains while in the audience waiting for a concert to begin, the curtains
took on a life of their own. Later I tried to capture that life in a painting,
but it was enormously unsuccessful. I still have this painting because I don't
want to throw it away, but it's too awful to even give to Good Will or Salvation
Army. It's now stuffed away in the back of a closet. I don't think even the spiders
would appreciate it, but it might scare them away.
