This collection of poetry spans more than 45 years and includes everything from formal, metered and rhymed verse to unstructured, free verse.

The poems are numbered according to when they were written. Thus, the first poem written is number 001. However, some of the earliest poems have been revised, but their original number remains the same. I have simply designated different styles of the same poem by a letter after the number (13a and 13b, for example). But, a word of warning: In general, the earlier the poem, the worse it will probably be!

However, the first poem is actually 000 and is not on the list. This is because I wrote it June 30, 1954, for my father. Here it is:
