Barbara is just your run-of-the-mill sort of person who has varied interests, such as singing (mostly opera), dancing, skiing, hiking, painting, and writing. No particular reason, except that most people have a kind of "voyeur" instinct, and they are curious about what goes on inside of the heads of other people.
